Push Fold Charts

Float the Turn has created a new Push/Fold Chart App for your phone which you can often use during live or online play to help you make better decisions when playing short stacked poker.

The Push/Fold Charts designed for No Limit Holdem players who want to improve their game. Follow the advice in the App and you’ll play optimally in all short stack situations.

In live play, you can quickly find the chart for the situation you will be in on the next hand and then place it on your knee during play of the hand. Most live venues allow cell phone use as long as you do not enter things into the cell phone during your play of the hand.

When your stack becomes small, 12 big blinds or less, your preflop strategy should be limited to pushing (shove/all-in) or folding. This “Push or Fold” chart app will teach you when to go all-in, and equally importantly, show you how to avoid situations that are not profitable. Our charts instantly tell you whether you should shove or fold based on your position and stack size.

Basic Usage

There are three buttons on the top of the App for easily changing charts between hands.

app_buttons

For the next hand, just push Next – your position will be moved one spot (e.g. Cutoff to Button) and your stack will be adjusted for Blinds and Antes.

If you do shove and don’t get called, push the Steal button to move one spot and add the Blinds and Antes to your stack.

If you push Next or Steal improperly, or once too often, push Undo to undo the last action.

If you make more than one mistake, use the Blind and Position buttons at the bottom of the App to fix it.

Ranges and Charts

Push / Fold

For each number of Big Blinds, Position and Ante setting, you will get a report of ranges and a push / fold chart.

The Percentage is the number of hands to play in this position.

The Range is a shorthand of the hands to shove. Note this is a standard format which you can copy and paste into calculation programs such as Holdem Manager.

The Chart shows which hand to shove. If you want to see a tighter or looser range for certain conditions, you can use the Adjustments buttons in below the chart.

Calling Ranges

Below the setup buttons, there is a chart of calling ranges.

These are the hands you should call with if some one else goes all in.

Other Quick Changes

For initial setup, or if need to fix something, use the Plus and Minus buttons for Position or Blinds.

Plus for Position moves to the next hand – e.g. from the Cutoff to the Button.

If you press Plus while on the Button, it will jump to the Small Blind

Plus and Minus for Blinds will loop around – for instance from 14 BBs to 1 BB

Adjustment – will adjust the range and chart. + make it 10% tighter, -makes it 10% looser.

Use this when you want to adjust for opponent reads, you own mood, etc.

We base our adjustments on the Expected Value (EV) of starting hands in push/shove situations. If you want to adjust for 10% tighter, then we remove the 10% of hands from the chart which have the lowest Expected Value when shoving.

Seats – the number of seats does not affect the chart.

It is used by the Next button to determine when you pass through theblinds

Ante Type – Normal (per person) or Big Blind (one person puts in all antes)

Antes – Use the one which is closest to your current situation.

For normal – choose the percentage that the ante is of the big blind. For example if the big blind is 300 and the ante is 50, then the percentage is 16.7%, For Big Bind – select the percentage of the big blind – usually the full big blind of 50%
